Big Fun Walk is North London Hospice’s flagship fundraiser. Over the past 20 years, our iconic walk has become one of our most loved and talked about events, raising over £1 million for the vital care we provide.
We are delighted to welcome back our in-person event in 2022 after two years of ‘My Big Fun Walk’, our virtual walk-your-own-way event. Thank you for all the support you continue to show our hospice by taking part in Big Fun Walk. The event was originally set up by the hospice’s North-West Support Group over 20 years ago. The 8.6 mile route takes you through some of London’s most beautiful scenery and past its most famous landmarks. You will enjoy the breath-taking views of the city on top of Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill. You will walk past Marble Arch and Buckingham Palace and you will celebrate in style in the heart of Westminster where your medals, live music, and a well-earned brew await you.
This year will mark 30 years since our site at Finchley opened, which provided us with the opportunity to care for patients within our Inpatient Unit for the first time. Since then, more than 10,000 people have received our specialist palliative end-of-life care.
Our Inpatient Unit is at the very heart of our care and in 2023, we have plans to undertake a major refurbishment of our unit to create even more of a home from home for our patients. This refurbishment project will be invaluable to the level of care we can provide to our patients and their families as well as a much-needed update to our facilities, but it will be costly.
This is where we really need your help. Every single penny you raise, will help fund this major update to our Inpatient Unit and ensure we can provide the highest level of care and support to our community in the future. So please do join us at our first in-person Big Fun Walk event in three years and show your support for North London Hospice.
